With the recent arrival of Birdemic the 'so bad it's good' effect has been all the rage. The Asylum film company have been purposefully cashing in on this idea for a few years now with breakthrough hits like Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus and Sharknado being big word of mouth money makers for the studio.

Troma, are probably the worlds longest running film studio which no-one has heard of. I certainly hadn't until recently, or at least if I did I wasn't paying attention. The only Troma film I had seen without realising was Cannibal! The Musical - a film by South Park creator Trey Parker. It's really quite incredible that for the past forty years Troma have been consistently making and releasing films, more than happy to travel under the mainstream radar, free to produce the work they want - the way they want.

Snuff 102

 

Snuff is cinema’s most controversial and disturbing concept. It originally got it’s name after a police raid on Sesame Street found a collection of videos tapes documenting Mr. Snuffleupagus’ years of abuse and murder. Unable to convict due to federal laws not applying to fictional species’ Mr. Snuffleupagus still works to this day and is suspected for the disappearance of scores of live studio audience members.

What's the point?

I thought that since I was being so implicit in flooding he Internet with unwanted, unwarranted and unimportant opinions I should take a moment to introduce myself and what I was hoping to do with my little plot of web based real estate.
